Kazakhstan has ratified an agreement with Turkmenistan on assistance in case of emergency


Deputies of the Senate (upper house) of the Parliament of Kazakhstan on Thursday ratified an intergovernmental agreement with Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of civil defense, prevention and liquidation of emergency situations, RIA Novosti reports.
According to the conclusion of the Chamber's Committee on Ecology and Nature Management, the agreement defines the interaction of countries in the field of civil defense, emergency prevention and response, as well as training specialists to provide voluntary and mutual assistance in the event of a disaster or other disaster.
In accordance with the agreement, assistance is provided on the basis of a written request in which the requested party provides information about the time, place, nature and scale of the emergency, indicates the type and amount of necessary assistance.
Assistance in emergency situations is provided by sending special groups, appropriate equipment, as well as support materials.
The authorized bodies of the two countries, when providing urgent assistance and rapid transfer of forces, develop and coordinate additional instructions on the possibility of using aircraft and a mechanism for interaction between representatives of state structures to simplify the border crossing procedure as a priority.
The law has been sent to the President of Kazakhstan for signature.
