The Association of Presidential Libraries of the CIS countries was established for the first time


St. Petersburg will become a platform for the creation of the Association of Presidential Libraries of Russia and CIS countries, the press service of the Presidential Library reports, where on Monday the protocol on the formation of a new organization with international status was signed.
Such an institution is being created for the first time in the post-Soviet space. The program of activities includes joint events, round tables, conferences, meetings. "The Association will provide wide access to world cultural values," the message reads.
The new organization will also facilitate the exchange of experience in the field of information and analytical support for public authorities, ensure the mutual use of resources on issues of history, law, economics, politics, cultural interaction and the introduction of advanced achievements and new technologies.
"The city pays close attention to maintaining and strengthening friendly ties with all CIS countries. An important part of the development of cooperation will be the integration of library resources – joint events of the presidential library with partners from CIS countries are planned on a regular basis," the words of the chairman of the Committee on External Relations of St. Petersburg Evgeny Grigoriev are quoted in the message.
