Turkmenistan and Iran agreed to expand intergovernmental contacts


Turkmenistan and Iran have agreed to further expand intergovernmental contacts, as well as to search for ways to develop cooperation in the oil and gas sector, the electric power industry, water environment and ecology.
The information about this was made during the talks between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Reza Najafi within the framework of the International Conference "Dialogue is a guarantee of peace", the official website of the Turkmen Foreign Ministry reports.
The diplomats confirmed their commitment to further strengthening the Turkmen-Iranian partnership, including in the trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres, as well as in the joint rational use of water resources.
Rashid Meredov also expressed condolences to the Iranian side on the death of the Minister of Transport and Urban Development of Iran Rostam Ghasemi, noting his contribution to the development of bilateral partnership.
