The US Department of State intends to expand bilateral cooperation with Turkmenistan within the framework of the C5+1 format to improve trade, water and energy management, as well as strengthen security. This is reported by Trend news agency with reference to the press service of the US Department of State.

"We look forward to attracting young people — future entrepreneurs and current leaders, especially women, to promote professional and educational programs aimed at improving the quality of life of all citizens of Turkmenistan and spreading the rich Turkmen cultural heritage on the world stage," the press service noted.

C5+1 is a dialogue format created to address common issues of cooperation between the five Central Asian states and the United States.

Earlier in November US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Donald Lu visited Turkmenistan. During the visit , he discussed strengthening of Turkmen-American cooperation in various fields with President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, and also held negotiations at the country's MFA.
