The Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia at the forum in Kazan proposed to create a Eurasian UNESCO


The proposal to create a Eurasian UNESCO was made by the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia at an international forum in Kazan dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Convention on the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage. The Congress opened in Tatarstan on December 5.
According to Russian news agencies, the delegates of the conference were asked to support the initiative by the Secretary General of the Assembly Andrey Belyaninov. In particular, he said that the Assembly of the Peoples of Eurasia proposes to create a Eurasian UNESCO in the development of UNESCO's activities, which would, first of all, conduct an inventory of cultural and natural values.
The new structure, together with regional representatives of the organization, will, among other things, digitize and archive cultural and natural values that are within the competence of UNESCO, and create a solid electronic database," the forum said.
The event will be held in Kazan until December 8. Leading foreign and Russian experts in the field of world heritage, as well as representatives of the scientific community, managers of World Heritage sites, experts in the field of culture, ecology, education, as well as religious figures take part in its work.
