The theater season is still closed, silence reigns on the capital’s stages, scarlet chairs are covered with light cloths, the audience seems to stand still waiting for the premieres...
But already on the days of celebrating the Kurban Bairam the Ashgabat residents and guests are expecting surprises on the stages.
On August 11-13, comedy shows with the participation of famous comedians will be on the stage of the Main Theater of the country. Such performances are very popular and usually take place at full houses.
The Mollanepes Student Theater is also producing humorous plays.
In general, the student theater is worth talking of separately.
Recently, Tachmammet Amanguliyev has been appointed to the post of chief manager. With his arrival, discipline and order have improved. “He is a very creative person!”, colleagues say about him.
The theater is closely connected with the Turkmen State Institute of Culture, because the main artists on the stage are graduates and students of this institute.
The third and fourth year students produce independent serious performances. Texts are read at the institute, and practical exercises take place directly on the stage. Nobody interferes with the creative process, and the art director only guides the children.
There is a known tirade: acting cannot be just taught, an actor must be born first. Therefore, there are no superfluous people in the Student Theater Company. For the time being, admission to the first year of the acting department is at its height at the Institute of Culture.
