Turkmenistan will increase the transit of goods along the North-South corridor to 17 trains per month

The number of regular container trains on the eastern branch of the North–South corridor (Kazakhstan - Turkmenistan - Iran) will be increased to 17 trains per month, TASS reports with reference to the trade representative of Russia in Turkmenistan Alexander Yelizarov.
"The first train of the 31st container, together with employees of JSC "Russian Railways" and the company "Russian Railways Logistics", we solemnly met in Serahs on the border with Iran at the beginning of November this year. The task has been set, and it will be completed — about 17 trains per month on a regular basis. Now we expect another line-up in December. But next year we will begin to realize the potential of 17 trains a month," Yelizarov said.
In addition, it was noted that at present, Russian shippers have already requested a large volume of cargo from the Turkmen side through the territory of the country, adding that the transit potential of Turkmenistan is huge.
