Diplomacy in the language of music


Anthems of all Commonwealth countries were performed at a festive concert in the Tauride Palace in St. Petersburg. The musical program was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the creation of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly, the official website of the organization says.
The virtuoso musicians of the Tauride International Symphony Orchestra performed on the stage of the famous Duma Hall. They played works by world-famous composers - Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich and Degtyarev. At the end of the concert, the line-up performed one song dedicated to each member state of the Commonwealth.

“The concert turned out, in my opinion, wonderful. Classical works sounded, folk works sounded, works of the Commonwealth countries sounded, recognizable, understandable and loved by everyone! And it seemed to me that the audience really liked this concert. I hope that we will continue to apply this practice,” said Dmitry Kobitsy, Secretary General - Head of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council.

The headquarters of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly is located in St. Petersburg in the Taurida Palace, which went down in history as a symbol of Russian parliamentarism. The Assembly occupies a worthy place among the inter-parliamentary organizations of the world and makes an important contribution to strengthening interaction, friendship and trust among the peoples of the Commonwealth countries.
The solemn concert of the international symphony orchestra "Tauride", which took place at the end of the year of folk art and cultural heritage, reflected all the beauty and originality of the musical diversity of the countries - members of the CIS.
