Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashida Meredov met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan in Ankara.

Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu was also present at the reception.

Earlier on Monday, the Foreign Ministers of Turkmenistan and Turkey held a separate meeting and negotiations, following which they spoke at a joint press conference.

The diplomats said that they discussed bilateral ties and cooperation on some regional issues in a one-on-one format, considered preparations for the Turkey-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan trilateral meeting, which will be held in Avaza and as a result of which a number of agreements are expected to be signed.

Meredov and Cavusoglu noted the importance of holding a meeting of the Ministers of Energy, Transport and Foreign Affairs on the eve of the trilateral meeting in Turkmenistan.

Cavusoglu also spoke about the expected visit of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Turkey in early 2023, the Anadolu agency reports.

He added that trade between the two countries is gradually growing and it is necessary to intensify efforts to achieve its volume of $ 5 billion.

Meredov described the talks as "useful", and said that the interaction of the two countries in international organizations was also considered. He said the two countries share "similar and similar" views on political issues at the international level.,
