The requirements of the International Plant Protection Convention (IPPC) with the participation of Turkmen specialists were discussed at the regional seminar of the Border Management Assistance Program in Central Asia (BOMCA 10), according to the program's website.

The participation of representatives of Turkmenistan in the event is designed to promote the development of international standards and their application at the national level to simplify trade procedures and improve the effectiveness of sanitary measures.

This is also important in light of Turkmenistan's accession to the World Trade Organization, which requires compliance with the IPPC by all member countries.

Experts from the Department of Border Control of the Food and Veterinary Service of Latvia and the State Plant Service under the Ministry of Agriculture of Lithuania familiarized the seminar participants with the methodology of training instructors and guidelines for the application of the International Plant Protection Convention.
