The Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan will celebrate its 90th anniversary with a festive concert


On December 3, in honor of the 90th anniversary of its foundation, the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan will hold a festive concert at the Makhtumkuli National Music and Drama Theater. The event is also timed to coincide with the International Day of Disabled People.
Members of the society will perform on the stage with dances, humorous numbers and songs, including in sign language. The concert will start at 14:00. Admission is free.
In October, in honor of its anniversary, the Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan announced a contest of literary and creative works among the visually and hearing impaired. It is aimed at developing their creative and literary abilities, identifying capable and gifted members of Society. The winners of the contest will be announced on November 30.
The Society of the Blind and Deaf of Turkmenistan was founded in 1932 and unites about 4 thousand members. There are Educational and production centers of the society in Ashgabat, Mary, Dashoguz, Turkmenbashi and other cities of the country. The Association for the Social Rehabilitation of the Society of the Blind and Deaf helps people with hearing and vision problems to adapt to life in the modern world and society.
