Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov proposed to revise the articles of the state budget on social payments to young people

Chairman of the upper house of the Turkmen parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov stated the need to revise the provisions on financing and granting benefits to young people in the state budget for 2023, as well as to increase the funds allocated to young people for special purposes.
This is reported by TDH following a meeting of the upper house of the National Assembly (Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh) of Turkmenistan.
Touching upon the issues of youth policy, the head of the upper chamber noted that in Turkmenistan in 2023 it is planned to build 11 preschool institutions, 8 secondary schools, 1 university and 1 theater.
It is necessary to determine whether enough funds have been allocated for the implementation of these works, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said, also pointing out the importance of the development of science and education in the country.
In this regard, the financing of the Academy of Sciences was also discussed, in particular, the lack of discoveries with specific economic effects associated with the introduction of the latest achievements of science and technology for industrial purposes.
"Why does this happen? Is the level of knowledge of Turkmen scientists and young people lower than in any other country?", the head of the upper house of parliament continued, noting that there are highly educated young people in the country who are capable of much. The main thing is to support and direct it in the right direction, which should become the main task of the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan.
