The deputy heads of a number of ministries and departments of Turkmenistan expressed strong support and readiness to participate in joint projects with the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe to build the country's potential when joining the World Trade Organization.

Elizabeth Turk, Director for Economic Cooperation and Trade of the UNECE, writes about this on her Twitter account following the meetings this week in the Government of Turkmenistan.

We are talking about projects with the UNECE aimed at introducing innovations in trade in response to WTO requirements for countries to join as full members of the organization.

Turkmenistan submitted application to join the WTO in November 2021 and later received the status of a country that joined the organization. These actions contributed to strengthening the country's position in foreign trade, attracting foreign investment and expanding cooperation with the World Trade Organization.
