Representatives of the Iranian railways reported a significant increase in the transit of goods to Turkmenistan through the province of Golestan, IRNA reports.

According to local officials, cargo turnover at the key Inche-Burun station has reached a record high of 40-65 wagons per day.

Iran has invested heavily in increasing the province's infrastructure capabilities to expand and facilitate trade with Central Asian states, especially Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan.

The increase in transit is also explained by the recent agreements reached between Iran and Turkmenistan on facilitating the movement of trucks through their territory.
