The European Union stands for expanding cooperation with the Central Asian states, including the creation of new transport corridors to the region, the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrel wrote in an official blog after returning from a trip to Central Asia.

According to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, the Central Asian region is of great importance for the world economy in the export of raw materials. He explained that we are talking, in particular, about the Trans-Caspian transport route, the development of which he discussed in Kazakhstan.

"We must deepen ties with the region, use its huge potential, which is represented in energy supplies, supplies of critical raw materials and new transport corridors," Borrel writes.
