The Turkmen-Russian University will train technical specialists and doctors


Turkmenistan has expressed interest in training specialists in technical and medical fields at the Turkmen-Russian University planned to be established in Ashgabat, the official website of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation reports following the meeting of the Turkmen-Russian intergovernmental commission.
A preliminary draft of an intergovernmental agreement on the establishment and conditions of the university has already been prepared. It is assumed that at the initial stage of the creation of a joint university, coordinating universities will be assigned on both sides.
Due to the fact that educational programs at the new university will be implemented according to Russian standards, the list of specialties and areas of higher education training approved by the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation was handed over to colleagues from Turkmenistan.
During the meeting, the parties also discussed the training of applicants from Turkmenistan in Russian universities.
Every year, the Russian government allocates a quota for training for Turkmen applicants. 250 places were allocated for the 2022/23 academic year, the same number is planned to be allocated for the next year.
Natalia Bocharova, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, noted in her speech that the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia is ready to consider the possibility of increasing the number of applicants from Turkmenistan for admission to Russian universities.
