The world's population has officially reached 8 billion people

As of November 15, the world's population officially reached 8 billion people, according to data from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
On the occasion of reaching an important mark for the whole planet, UNFPA created online special project with information about the population of the Earth and launched the hashtag #8BillionStrong in social networks.
According to the Fund, over the past 12 years, the world's population has increased by 1 billion people. By 2037, the number of people on the planet should increase to 9 billion, and by 2058 – 10 billion.
The UNFPA special project website also has an online counter of the world's population, which shows that 2-3 children are born on Earth every second.
