The Turkmen-Tajik intergovernmental Commission made proposals to deepen cooperation


The joint Turkmen-Tajik Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation made a number of specific recommendations for deepening cooperation between the countries, which was reflected in the Protocol following the results of the XI meeting in Ashgabat.
In order to increase the trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, it was recommended to create a permanent profile interdepartmental working group that will expand the range of goods supplied.
By the end of the year, it was also proposed to form the Turkmenistan-Tajikistan Business Council and hold its first meeting online to develop specific areas of business assistance for both countries.
In the first half of 2023, the intergovernmental commission recommended holding a Turkmen-Tajik business forum and organizing visits of Turkmen entrepreneurs to Tajikistan's free economic zones to study the experience of the Tajik side.
It was noted at the meeting that Tajik enterprises began to purchase mineral fertilizers in Turkmenistan. The members of the commission agreed to continue the practice of procurement and expand the supply of mineral fertilizers, including carbamide.
Regarding the field of industry, the commission called for considering the possibility of establishing joint ventures for the processing of medicinal herbs in Tajikistan. The business communities of both countries were invited to work out the issue of creating a joint venture for processing cotton to final products.
