OSCE advises Turkmenistan on improving the operation of free economic zones


The OSCE Center in Ashgabat held a seminar for local specialists dedicated to creating a favorable investment climate and improving foreign economic activity in the territory of free economic zones, according to a press release from the organization's representative office.
An invited international expert from the UK shared the best practices of the OSCE participating states in the creation of free economic zones, focusing in detail on the organization of customs control and evaluation of the effectiveness of FEZ.
The realization of the potential of free economic zones can stimulate the creation of new jobs, lead to an increase in exports and attract foreign investment, Ivan Markovich-Boskovich, head of the Economic and Environmental Department of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat, said at the event.
The seminar brought together representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Trade and Foreign Economic Relations, Finance and Economy, the Central Bank, the State Customs Service and the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan.
