President of Turkmenistan congratulated the head of Uzbekistan on his 60th birthday
President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov congratulated his Uzbek colleague on his 60th birthday. In a telephone conversation held on this occasion, the heads of state reaffirmed their commitment to friendly relations and the traditions of good neighborliness between the two peoples. The presidents discussed the urgent regional issues and matters on the international agenda. As of today, the relations between the two neighboring countries are moving to a new level, which is facilitated by the established good personal relations between the Turkmen and Uzbek leaders. President Mirziyoyev visited Turkmenistan on March 6-7, 2017 and joined with Berdymukhamedov in the opening of the border railroad and automobile bridges of Turkmenabat-Farab. On May 19th this year, Mirziyoyev arrived to the city of Turkmenbashi, where a large group of Uzbek children rested at that time, having come at the invitation of the Turkmen leader to the resort seashore of Avaza. As a result of the two meetings of the heads of state, agreements and memoranda were signed, including on cooperation in the field of railway and air transport, in the field of electricity transit, trade and economic interaction at the level of the regions of the two countries, and a number of corporate bilateral documents.
