The Turkmen historical city of Anau has been declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. This decision was made at the 39th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY, held in Bursa – the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2022. The Turkmen historical city of Anau has been declared the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2024. This decision was made at the 39th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY, held in Bursa – the cultural capital of the Turkic world in 2022. The final declaration of the meeting was signed by the heads of departments of the member countries, including the Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan Atageldy Shamuradov.

The declaration also noted the decision to ensure the participation of the youth of the Turkic world by developing joint projects under the leadership of the Ministries of Culture and universities in the Festival of Aviation, Space and Technology – TEKNOFEST, which is organized by the authorities of the Republic of Turkey.

In addition, the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY decided to hold events in order to promote the project on the declaration of the Year of Culture and Memory of the Turkic World.

The final declaration states that in order to improve the efficiency of TURKSOY's work, it was decided to hold a meeting of high-ranking civil servants twice a year in the General secretariat of TURKSOY, organized by the coordinating country, with the participation of representatives of the ministries of culture and relevant institutions of the member countries.

The declaration also states that in 2023, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the creation of TURKSOY, celebrations will be organized in member countries, international organizations such as UNESCO, the Council of Europe, the United Nations and in important cultural centers of the world. The National Commissions for UNESCO of the TURKSOY member countries are working to proclaim the International Day of Turkic Languages by UNESCO.

And the festival of the Turkic world "Gorkut Ata", successfully held in 2021 and 2022, will be included in the traditional program of TURKSOY, and will be held alternately in the cities-cultural capitals of the Turkic world.

The 40th meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY will be held at the end of next year in Azerbaijan's Shusha - the cultural capital of the Turkic world -2023.
