TikTok is testing new features: mini-games and a "Clean Mode" may appear in the application
Despite the regular criticism of the application and the abundance of annoying ads, the number of TikTok users is constantly growing. The company's management, in order not to lose its audience, is trying to improve the service by offering new functions.
First of all, the platform started testing video games. Thus, the company plans to attract more users to the application, according to Reuters, referring to the parent company ByteDance.
The test group consists mainly of young users under the age of 35. The company said that they will start small, offering mini-games with simple mechanics and short game time, the content of which will be easy.
Note that this is not the first time that the platform is trying to introduce a game format. HTML5 games have already been released in which players could compete with friends and subscribers.
Also, information from insiders appeared on the network that TikTok is also working on a number of streaming features. They include games that help streamers interact with viewers. For example, to distribute coins to random users, and they, in turn, will be able to make various purchases in the game.
The last one iss the "Clean Mode". It will allow you to be less distracted from watching videos by removing user names, "Like", "Comments" and "Share" buttons from the screen.
To start the mode, users who are allowed to test can activate the "Clean Mode" by making a long press on the screen. The Clean mode button appears in the context menu under the "Add to Favorites" button. This feature will be useful when usernames and captions cover important parts of the video.
