Iran and Kazakhstan have agreed to increase the volume of transit between the countries to 4 million tons


Minister of Roads and Urban Development of Iran Rostam Ghasemi and Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin agreed at a meeting in Tehran to sign a memorandum of understanding to expand cooperation in transit and transport, IRNA news agency reports.
According to the plans of the parties, the volume of transit between the countries should grow from 1 million tons of cargo to 4 million tons per year. Within the framework of the agreements reached, it is expected to resolve issues related to the digitization of goods at customs, the equalization of tariffs, as well as the issuance of visas to drivers and businesses.
The parties also paid attention to the topic of facilitating the transit of goods along the China–Kazakhstan–Turkmenistan–Iran railway route and discussed multilateral cooperation on this issue.
