Schoolchildren of Turkmenistan - in the top three of Asia in chess
Another seven medals were won by Turkmen chess players on the final days of the Asian School Championships in Tashkent. The 13-year-old Lala Shohradova won the gold award in the blitz discipline, becoming the champion of Asia. She also won the "bronze" championship in classical chess. Another “gold” was brought to the assets of the Turkmen team by the ward of the honored trainer of Turkmenistan Serdar Annaberdiyev - 17-year-old Azat Nurmamedov. Winner of the sports school of the city of Mary Annagozel Mekanova (17 years old) became the owner of two bronze medals in both disciplines. Silver medals in the "blitz" were won by Aigul Atabaeva (11 years) and Merdzhen Batyrova (15 years). At the end of the tournament, the national team of Turkmenistan took the third overall team position. Turkmenistan has a total of 10 medals, 5 of which are gold. The first place is occupied by Uzbekistan. Earlier, young chess players from Turkmenistan were awarded three medals in the Rapid discipline.
