TAPI Project: Promoting peace and common security in the region

The implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project is, first of all, energy security in the region and the countries participating in the project – providing Afghanistan, Pakistan and India with reliable and cheap natural gas.
First of all, we are talking about accessibility – the program will help reduce energy poverty at the expense of budget energy and will allow Pakistan to provide 50% of the amount of energy that will be needed in the country by 2030, and India – 56% of the energy needed after 2024, – said the participant of OGT-2022 Mukhammetmyrat Amanov in his presentation – Executive Director of TAPI Pipeline Compani Limited.
The pipeline infrastructure will be safe and reliable with the use of modern technologies and compliance with legislation and international standards. This is the guarantee of the delivery of the "product" to the end user. In addition, TAPI will become an example of reducing carbon emissions, as well as contribute to global energy security by reducing CO2 emissions, and help achieve the goals of the Paris Agreement," said the director of TAPI.

The project will be implemented in 2 stages – first, gas will be supplied in free flow from the Turkmen gas field "Galkynysh" to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India. At the second stage, six compressor stations will be added to complete a full-scale gas supply project through a pipeline with a length of 1,853 km.
The trunk line will transport up to 33 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, which will monetize Turkmenistan's gas reserves and provide Afghanistan and Pakistan with additional income through transit fees, the author of the presentation noted.
