Delegation of Turkmenistan held a meeting in the oil and gas corporation of Georgia
The Turkmen delegation consisting of representatives of state bodies and business structures met in Tbilisi with Director General of the Georgian Oil and Gas Corporation Georgy Chikovani.
The main purpose of the talks was to discuss the current situation and plans for future cooperation in the energy sector. Among the topics discussed were the simplification of transit procedures and an increase in the volume of oil products supplied from Turkmenistan, the joint implementation of infrastructure projects related to their processing and storage in Georgia, Georgian media write.
Georgy Chikovani briefed the guests on the agenda of the Georgian oil and gas corporation, focused on the importance of diversifying partnerships in the energy sector, including trade in products made from natural gas.
The parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation and expressed their desire to dynamically develop the joint working process. The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Georgia Dovlet Muratov.
As part of the visit, representatives of the delegation of Turkmenistan also held a meeting last week with Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Khvtisiashvili at the Georgian Foreign Ministry, bilateral negotiations were held in a number of other departments on the topic of deepening economic ties between the two countries and the effective use of their transit potential.
