OSCE promotes cyber security of Turkmenistan


The Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe will contribute to the efforts of the Turkmen government to ensure security in the information space, the official website of the structure reports following the opening of the Center of Excellence in the Field of Cybersecurity at the Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics of Turkmenistan with the assistance of the OSCE.
"I am sure that this Center will serve as a platform for the exchange of experience and professional development of teachers in the field of cybersecurity technologies, will become a generator of new solutions for information security," Deputy Minister of Education Azat Atayev said during the opening ceremony with the participation of high–ranking officials and OSCE representatives in Turkmenistan.
The OSCE Center in Ashgabat, which initiated this project, handed over to the institute the necessary equipment for research work and new earnings.
"The OSCE Center will continue to support the Center of Excellence in the Field of Cybersecurity, helping to provide a platform for the exchange of world experience in the field of cybersecurity, countering cyber threats and cyber attacks," the head of the OSCE Center in Ashgabat John McGregor concluded.
