The ROC will work on the creation of new pilgrimage routes in Turkmenistan

The Russian Orthodox Church will not only continue to develop, but also create and open new pilgrimage routes within Turkmenistan, Archbishop Feofilakt of Pyatigorsk and Circassian, the temporary manager of the patriarchal deanery of the Russian Orthodox Church in Turkmenistan, told TASS in an interview.
"Currently, we are continuing a dialogue with the state authorities on the preservation and the possibility of expanding pilgrimage trips to them. Residents of Turkmenistan with great joy, for example, on the feast of the Intercession of the Mother of God go to one of the most beautiful churches – Pokrovsky in Mary, to Ancient Merv, where there was once an ancient Christian diocese," the clergyman noted.
