A French Day of music was celebrated in Ashgabat
Just recently, residents of Ashgabat people enjoyed music performed by Italian pianist Roberto Prosseda, and today French melodies were performed for them on occasion of the Fête de la Musique or Music Day that celebrated on June 21 in France. Every kind of musician – young and old, amateur and professional, of every musical persuasion – pours onto streets, parks, plazas, and porches to share their music with friends, neighbors, and strangers. All of it is free and open to the public in France.
The students of MLF Bouygues French School and the French Institute in Turkmenistan also hold a real fete. Young artists pleased the guests by songs by famous Charles Aznavour, Michael Jackson, as well as by modern dances.
Little fans of French culture were not fall behind, who also sang songs with great enthusiasm and inspiration. Parents sang along with them, supporting their kids at their first “stage” performance.
“This holiday launched in France as the Fête de la Musique, it is now held on the same day in many countries all around the world as it helps people to show up their talent,” Neil Pitra, Director of the French Institute in Turkmenistan, said.
Today, for children studying at the French Institute, the music that unites people as a big happy family has become the main language.
