Russian Railways plans to deliver some goods to the UAE and Turkey via Turkmenistan
The Russian Railways Holding company plans to organize the transportation of certain cargoes, in particular coal coke and metallurgical products, to the United Arab Emirates, Turkey, and some other states through the territory of Turkmenistan and Iran, TASS reports.
It is also expected to start work on digitalization of the railways of Turkmenistan, increase the volume of traffic along the "North - South" international transport corridor, as well as the launch of a regular container service with the participation of the holding and the Turkmenistan Railways agency.
This became known during the meeting of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, the Director General of the Agency of Transport and Communications under the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan Mammetkhan Chakyev and the chairman of the Turkmenistan Railways agency Azat Atamuradov with the Director General of Russian Railways Oleg Belozerov.
