Iranian delegation discusses issues of development of trade relations in Turkmenistan

The delegation of the Iranian province of North Khorasan, headed by Governor Mohammad Reza Husseinnejad, arrived in Turkmenistan to discuss the development of trade relations between the countries, the IRNA news agency reports.
One of the key points of the negotiations is the development of border cooperation in order to increase trade turnover, which is relevant in the context of the existence of a long border between the countries.
The participants of the bilateral meetings highlighted the huge potential for the implementation of joint trade and economic projects involving the private sector. The medical industry, sericulture, agriculture, organization of specialized exhibitions, etc. were named among the possible areas for strengthening cooperation.
The parties also discussed the creation of a joint committee that will monitor the implementation of memoranda signed earlier between neighboring states during the official visit of President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Iran in June this year.
