Turkmenistan and Qatar aim to expand dialogue
The expansion of Turkmen-Qatari relations in the political, diplomatic, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres was discussed at the meeting in Doha. The Turkmen delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Berdyniyaz Myatiyev, who met with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs of Qatar Sultan bin Saad Al-Muraiki.
The diplomats stressed the importance of visits at the highest and highest levels in promoting interstate cooperation. They also considered ways to increase cooperation in the investment and transport sectors, noted the importance of developing a contractual and legal framework for cooperation, the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan reported on Monday.
During the visit of the Turkmen delegation, which took place on October 16-17, a meeting was held with the leadership of the Ministry of Energy of Qatar. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on the development of ties in the energy sector between the two countries.
Another meeting of the Turkmen delegation was with the heads of the Qatar Development Bank, where promising areas of trade and economic partnership, contacts in the financial and banking sector were discussed.
Earlier it was reported about the upcoming visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Qatar. The issues of organizing bilateral summit talks were discussed at a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan a little over a week ago, on October 8.
