Scientists decided to gain insight into how an orchid, which is so appreciated by its beauty, has charmed almost every inhabitant of the Earth. To find the answer, the researchers set out to study the genome of the flower. A group of scientists from the PRC discovered a prototype of an orchid, untouched by humans, growing in the mountainous areas of the southeastern part of the Celestial Empire. Scientists, with the participation of the Shenzhen Research Center, arranged the genome of this flower and compared it with new varieties. The article printed in the scientific journal "Nature" provides material for studying the evolution of orchids and describes the distinctive features that are peculiar only to this flower. Orchid is one of the floral plants groups, rich in species. Its name appeared in ancient Greece through the philosopher Theophrastus, a pupil of Plato. Many of them are grown only for the sake of beauty, while others are economically important. For example, some varieties of orchids are a valuable source of vanilla. The first Turkmen-Chinese scientific and innovative forum, organized by the Turkmen Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Ministry of Science and Technology, will be held in Ashgabat on October 11th and 12th. The theme of the forum will also touch upon the theme of biology, which facilitates the exchange of experience of Chinese and Turkmen scientists in the study of various plant species, including orchids, whose beauty and value are highly valued by Turkmen biologists.
