The leaders of the CIS countries began negotiations in a narrow format


The CIS summit started with negotiations in a narrow format in Astana, BELTA reports. The meeting is attended by the heads of Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting ceremony of the heads of CIS states, The President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that at today's summit the parties will discuss important issues in the field of humanitarian law, security, and other aspects of joint work.
Following the summit, it is expected to sign a number of agreements and make decisions on the development of cooperation in various fields, including in the fight against corruption, terrorism and extremism, on economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
