Iran has increased trade turnover with Central Asian countries by 40% with the support of Turkmenistan

Iran has increased trade turnover with Central Asian countries by 40% through the Khorasan-Razavi province, bordering the Akhal region of Turkmenistan, thanks to the simplification of the transit of goods through the neighboring country, IRNA reports.
At the same time, the trade turnover between Iran and Turkmenistan in January-June 2022 amounted to $233 million, while for the whole of 2021 this figure amounted to $227 million. This indicates a significant increase in the volume of trade between the countries, Iranian Ambassador to Turkmenistan Gholam Abbas Arbab Khales said.
The head of the diplomatic mission expressed hope that by the end of 2022 the volume of trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Iran will double thanks to active economic diplomacy.
The trade union organization of transport and transit companies of Khorasan-Razavi province hopes that as a result of the coordination of the activities of Turkmenistan and Iran, as well as the transit benefits from Turkmenistan that have entered into force, Iran will be able to expand its presence in the markets of Central Asia.
