Turkmen designers and artisans demonstrated their works at the exhibition "Design-2022"


The international exhibition "Design Without Borders", held within the framework of the Design-2022 Forum, opened its exhibition pavilions for foreign guests and residents of the capital in the building of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan.

Unique works of Turkmen craftsmen, needlewomen, artisans and collectors-lovers of folk and applied art were presented at the exhibition.

Handmade national embroideries, drawings and models of architectural projects, styles of national dresses, brand clothing expositions were demonstrated not only by state organizations and private enterprises, but also by self-employed citizens. They promote elements of national art in order to popularize the national distinctive culture of the Turkmen people.

Among the compositions presented were, among others, the works of master Dmitry Matveev, the only master in the country to recreate archaeological finds found on the territory of Turkmenistan – dishes, runes, water lilies and ancient flasks, some of which are in the State Museum of the country.

Matveev's filigree works have become one of the most striking and noteworthy at the exhibition. According to the master himself, in addition to the opportunity to realize their works, the exhibition helps the self-employed to show the high level of development of folk crafts in our country.
Within the framework of the Forum, a conference, a fashion show was also organized, designs of new book covers, original paintings with colorful patterns were presented.

The Forum was attended by foreign guests from the USA, China, Turkey, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, who highly appreciated the elegance of the forms and images of the national exterior. Representatives of the creative intelligentsia of Turkmenistan and members of the Turkmen government were also invited to the exhibition.
