Ashgabat music and movie fans: Italian virtuoso will perform the music of the famous Nino Rota
On June 18, Italian pianist Roberto Prosseda will perform at the Magtymguly National Music and Drama Theater. The concert dedicated to the 40th anniversary of the death of the Italian composer, the Oscar winner Nino Rota, will feature the music of such great Italian masters as Gioacchino Rossini, Guido Alberto Fano and Rota himself.
Roberto Prosseda studied with the best musicians in the Conservatory in Latina, the International Piano Academy in Imola (The International Piano Academy "Incontri col Maestro").
Prosseda is a popularizer of modern Italian music. Being a leading on the Italian National Radio (RAI), he made a series of programs about composers from his own country of our time.
“I do not consider myself a supporter of any particular musical repertoire, but I turn to romantic music most often,” he admitted in an interview.
Prosseda is also known for his performance of the recently discovered works of German musician Felix Mendelssohn. He even released a series of nine CDs with piano works of German genius.
The musician often experiments with modern technology on the stage. In 2012 in the Philharmonic in Berlin, he acted as a ghostly pianist who plays the digital instrument from the backstage. Together with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra on the stage, the robot on an ordinary grand piano reflected the performance of the Procade by Chopin.
