Chairman of the upper house of the Turkmen parliament Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov visited the territory of the administrative center of the Akhal region under construction on Wednesday and, together with the mayor of the new city Shamukhammet Durdylyev and the head of the State Committee for the Construction of the regional center Deriyageldi Orazov, identified a place for the construction of a mosque.
Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov got acquainted with the variants of architectural projects of the future mosque, images of its exterior and interior decoration, and the layout of the adjacent space. A video report about this was shown in the evening news of Turkmen TV channels.
On some issues of the arrangement of the temple, the head of the Halk Maslahaty recommended consulting with the clergy and elders, and in general gave instructions for the qualitative construction of an object that will serve as a place of spiritual attraction.
In an interview with the leaders of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov mentioned the recent working visit of the Turkmen delegation to Tokyo, noting that advanced Japanese developments in the field of urban planning and organization of the living environment using high technologies can be applied in the new administrative center.
Every year on October 6, Turkmenistan celebrates Memorial Day, and on October 7, on the occasion of the choice of the construction site of a new mosque, a festive sadaka will be given, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov said of his intention, saying that a charity meal will be organized at the expense of his royalties for books.
