St. Petersburg plans to train more students from Turkmenistan at its universities. This was reported to journalists by the governor of the city Alexander Beglov concluding a meeting with the Foreign Minister of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, TASS reports. As we informed before, the delegation of the Government of St. Petersburg headed by Alexander Beglov arrived in Ashgabat on September 26.

During the meeting, the sides also discussed the opening of a friendship monument in the Turkmen capital. "Ashgabat, Turkmenistan during the Great Patriotic War hosted residents of St. Petersburg, our blockade runners. I expressed my gratitude for the warm welcome from the residents of our city. The memorial structure will become a symbol of friendship between the peoples of the two countries," the governor said.
