Uzbekistan and Iran to establish road transportation through Turkmenistan


Transport and logistics cooperation was one of the topics of the talks held on Wednesday between President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Iranian leader Ibrahim Raisi. It was noted that the expansion of opportunities in this direction will be facilitated by the establishment of road transport along the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran route, the effective use of the potential of the Chabahar port, and the facilitation of entry and transit of goods. This was reported on the website of the head of Uzbekistan.

As a result of the meeting, 18 documents covering various areas of cooperation, including transport were signed. Including - a memorandum on the implementation of international cargo transportation and transit through the Chabahar port.
Iranian President Ibrahim Raisi arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit on September 14. He will also attend the SCO summit on September 15-16 in Samarkand.
