Valentina Matvienko: Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan is expected to visit Russia
The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan is expected to have an official visit to Russia, Speaker of the upper house of the Russian Parliament Valentina Matvienko said during a telephone conversation with her Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on Monday.
The Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation congratulated the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Milli Gengesh on being awarded the Order of Russia "For Services to the Fatherland" IV degree, passing greetings on this occasion from the President Vladimir Putin. Valentina Matvienko noted Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov's huge contribution to the development of interstate dialogue in the traditions of friendship and good neighborliness.
The head of the upper house of the Turkmen parliament said that he perceives the award as a high assessment of the creative path that Turkmenistan and Russia have gone through together over many years. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov also highlighted Vladimir Putin's outstanding contribution to strengthening Turkmen-Russian cooperation.
The speakers of the parliaments noted the important role of interaction between the legislative bodies of the two countries to promote the extensive bilateral agenda.
