“Literature fraternity. Belarus - Turkmenistan” is the name of the new book by Alexander Karlyukevich, a writer, journalist and part-time information minister of the Republic of Belarus. The new edition is a story about today's and yesterday's relations of the two countries in the field of culture, literary contacts, creative dialogue, fluttering in many other areas. Literary connections, it would seem, are not very obvious, not so prominent, but nevertheless, deep and power-filled words, thoughts, friendship. Alexander Nikolaevich himself, as it turned out, lived and worked in Turkmenistan. After graduating from the journalism department of the Lviv Higher Military-Political School, he was sent to Ashgabat, where he worked for several years in a military newspaper. He recalls with pleasure the street and the house where he lived in the second half of the 80s. And although now this house is not to be found, he admires the new look of Ashgabat, where he has been since then more than once. Lists the names of Turkmen writers, journalists, with whom he collaborated, whose works were published in the Belarusian language. “These ties have longstanding good traditions, so many wonderful prospects. Writing connection is a very important channel of humanitarian interaction between countries, Karlyukevich believes. This was discussed at today's meeting of the Minister of Information of the Republic of Belarus with representatives of the Turkmen press and the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Minsk. In particular, Alexander Nikolayevich, whom his Turkmen friends and colleagues call Belarusian “Ales” in Belarusian style, invited writers from Turkmenistan to take part in a round table of writers from different countries, which will be held within the framework of the Minsk International Book Fair this summer. He also proposed to organize cross-press tours for journalists of Turkmenistan and Belarus. If we go to each other more often, see what our countries live in, we will write more about each other, said Alexander Nikolaevich. In Belarus, a great deal of attention is now being paid to the development of the regional press and the promotion of its resources on the Internet. It would be interesting to include employees of regional publications in the Turkmen delegation to exchange experience and establish direct contacts. Alexander Karlyukevich voiced many more proposals for cooperation in the field of literature, mutual transfers and journalism. And he also offered to take part in a new publishing project, the platform of which was the House of the Book “Svetoch”. Here, where books from other countries are represented, one could create a section of Turkmen classical and modern literature. Well, the Belarusian youth is very fond of reading. And, perhaps, it is the book in its traditional sense that will better help open our country than the Internet, in which information is consumed, but this process can remain very far from thoughtful reading. ... The book of Alexander Karlyukevich “Literature fraternity” begins with an appeal to the middle of the XIX century, when a native of Belarus, diplomat Alexander Khodko, traveling in Turkmenistan, wrote down Magtymguly's poems and then published them in England. He also recorded the epic “Georogly”, verses of Kemin, and published them in his own translation into English. And from that moment on, Europe began to discover Turkmen literature and folklore. Already Khodko's translations began to be translated into other languages. For example, the translator into French was made by George Sand. Here is such a symbiosis of cultures! And today, such interaction is no less relevant for national cultures, so that they learn about them more in the world, and for the world - so that it has more than reasonable, good, eternal!
