Austrian company is ready to build unique steel and glass structures in Ashgabat City
The leading European company in the field of construction of exclusive architectural objects from high-strength steel and glass - Waagner Biro steel and glass – declared its readiness to apply all its rich experience and technologies in the implementation of Ashgabat City and Akhal City projects.
This was stated by Director General of the Austrian company Waagner Biro Steel and Glass Johann Sischka, speaking online at the international conference "Development of the construction, industrial and energy sectors of Turkmenistan" on Saturday.
The portfolio of Waagner Biro includes such bold and exciting architectural “adventures” as the dome of the Reichstag in Berlin, the roof of the British Museum in London, the dome of the Louvre in Abu Dhabi, the new airport terminal in Baku or the Red Bull hangar in Salzburg.
The company is focused not only on the external effect of cutting-edge design, but, first of all, on the durability of structures and the creation of sustainable aesthetic values in architecture. Johann Siska himself, being a member of the Austrian-Turkmen Friendship Society since its foundation 13 years ago, always speaks of the Turkmen capital with great love and sees great prospects for unprecedented projects in its architectural development.
Waagner Biro Steel and Glass entered the Turkmen market in 2019 and has since supported various interesting projects where its technical expertise can be used. The company cooperates with the Department of Urban Planning and Architecture of the city of Ashgabat, responsible architects, consultants and experts, participates in tenders and forms consortiums with local construction companies. A key part of Waagner Biro's research in Turkmenistan is devoted to the seismic theme, which has a strong influence on design.

As outstanding examples of the company's work, Siska cited a glazed pavilion in Manchester, UK, where a 30-tonne stainless steel roof sits on 8-meter glass panes. In the same row, the Etihad Museum in Dubai, the building of which includes a sloping glass wall with 10-meter pillars supporting the facade.

We cover all stages from project design to fabrication and installation, and offer maintenance services to help keep buildings in shape for longevity,” said the Director General of the Waagner Biro Steel and Glass CEO, adding:
