Russia has handed over to a number of CIS countries test systems for detecting smallpox monkeys. This is reported by the Prime agency with reference to the press service of Rospotrebnadzor.

"Russian test systems were transferred by Rospotrebnadzor to Armenia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan," the report says.

As specified, the tests were carried out by the State Research Center "Vector", which produced them promptly. Today, testing is available to Russians in all regions of the country.

By the end of July, Russia will also transfer tests to Egypt, Uganda, Ethiopia and the Republic of the Congo, the ministry noted.

Earlier, the head of WHO Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus regarded the outbreak of smallpox monkeys as an emergency in the field of public health of international importance.

In Russia, the first case of monkey pox was detected on July 12. The disease was found in a young man who returned from Europe. According to Rospotrebnadzor, the possibility of the spread of smallpox of monkeys in Russia has been stopped, all those who contacted the first sick Russian are under the supervision of doctors.

In addition, the department reported that the previously passed vaccination against smallpox reduces the risks of severe smallpox of monkeys.
