Turkmenistan initiated the creation of two more regional transport corridors


Representatives of state structures for transport of Turkmenistan, Iran, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Turkey are holding a working meeting in Ashgabat on the creation of transport corridors within the framework of the Economic Cooperation Organization.
This is the first meeting of the working group aimed at creating international transport corridors in the directions of Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran and Tajikistan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Turkey.
The initiative was put forward by the Turkmen side to strengthen economic ties in the ECO region, as well as the development of all modes of transport in international combined freight traffic.
Also during the meeting, they discussed the feasibility of creating a unified register of dangerous goods, checkpoints, maps of roads and railways.
