The volume of cargo transportation by Turkmen airlines has increased significantly during the pandemic

At the moment, Turkmenistan provides 53 air routes for flying over the territory of the country and in recent years 16 new routes have been opened that allow airlines to reduce the cost of flights, Chairman of the Agency "Turkmenhowayollary" Dovran Saburov said, speaking at the international transport forum in Ashgabat.
He noted that despite the instability of the situation in civil aviation around the world, due to the pandemic, this sphere has remained stable in Turkmenistan thanks to the support of the state. In particular, subsidies and preferential loans were allocated to the national carrier - the Turkmenistan Aviation Company, which during the pandemic continued and continues to successfully carry out its cargo flights to destinations in Asia and Europe, namely to China, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and European countries. Moreover, the volume of cargo transportation has increased significantly during this time.

Turkmenistan in the field of civil aviation has all the possibilities of providing transport and transit corridors in ensuring international cooperation, interaction between all modes of transport in order to create sustainable multimodal corridors, Saburov said.
