The post-pandemic recovery of the transport and logistics sector in the light of new challenges and opportunities was considered by the participants of the plenary session, which began the international conference on transport and transit corridors in Ashgabat on Monday.

After that, the Ambassador, Permanent Representative of Turkmenistan to the UN Office in Geneva Atageldy Khaldzhanov joined the event online. In his speech, he singled out among the international transport projects with the participation of Ashgabat the Agreement on the creation of a transit corridor between Oman, Iran, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan, which entered into force in 2016. In his opinion, the implementation of this agreement opens up great prospects for the development of mutually beneficial relations between the Central Asian states and the countries of the Near and Middle East. This route provides Central Asian operators with optimal access to the ports of the Persian Gulf, and also gives Russia and China the opportunity to enter new markets through it.
