Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan expect to double trade volumes


The volume of trade between Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan should double in the coming years, it was noted during the talks of Presidents Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Shavkat Mirziyoyev in an expanded format in Tashkent.
The decisions taken at the highest level on the creation of the Turkmen-Uzbek border trade zone and the opening of trading houses in the capitals of neighboring states should contribute to the increase in trade turnover.
It was noted that the parties intend to expand cooperation in the automotive, electrical, textile and pharmaceutical industries, the food industry and agriculture.
To ensure the stable strengthening of relations, a medium-term program of trade and economic cooperation and the development of industrial cooperation will be adopted, the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports.
Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also plan to create a joint project office to promote the most promising projects.
