Music of the CIS countries: when words are not enough, souls adjoin
A grand concert of the CIS Youth Symphony Orchestra and Artists of the Commonwealth took place in Ashgabat Palace of Mukam. Participants presented to the audience magnificent national musical gifts - works of Turkmen, Russian, Armenian, Belarusian, Azerbaijani, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Uzbek, Tajik and Moldavian composers.
A unique baritone concert, People’s Artist of Turkmenistan, laureate of the Stars of the Commonwealth Atageldi Garyagdyev opened the “Song about Ashgabat”. The composition has become a singer's business card - by all accounts, no one performs it better than he.
Continuing under the direction of two famous conductors from Turkmenistan and Russia - Rasul Klychev and Sergey Skrypka - the orchestra played Rakhmadiev's Festive kyu, Bekhaliyev's Festive Overture, Sketches from the music for the film “The Decisive Step” by Halmamedov, the overture to the film “Taming the Witch” by Petrov, Uzbek folk kuy "Norim-Norim".

The concert listeners languidly sighed when the accompanist announced the famous song “I met a girl” performed by the honored artist of Turkmenistan Nury Nuryev. The tenor conveyed the whole gamut of feelings that a young man can experience when he meets a black-haired oriental beauty. Many people remembered the first love in the hall - an all-consuming feeling, a fiery flower burning in the chest.

Doghi’s Waltz, “Dance with Sabers” by Khachaturian, the song “Ezberhodzhi” from the opera “Shasenem and Garib” by Ovezov performed by Atageldi Garyagdyev, “Duet of Aylar and Charyyar” by Mukhatov, masterfully performed by Leyli Okdirova and Aadjan Berdiye, waltz from the “Seven beauties” ballet by Karayev, conducted by Murtuza Bulbul Polad oglu - all these melodies performed by the Youth Symphony Orchestra of the CIS caused a storm of delight to the public. Grateful listeners did not spare the words of admiration and applause for talented conductors and musicians, in which the hall literally sank.
But here on the stage is the one everyone was waiting for with impatience - the people's artist of Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan, beloved by the millions of people, Polad Bulbul oglu. Teimour, who has grown gray but not aged for a year from the film “Do not be afraid, I'm with you!” performs the famous hymn of life, the indomitable song of inspiration “How we lived, fighting!”. Hall knows the words by heart and sings along with the artist with all the fervor.

What do years mean? What do the borders mean? What does distance mean when music unites us? When do we not need words to feel and understand each other? And if you want to say something, do it so that the heart flutters with joy!
Unity is power! This thought permeated through the whole concert. This is what the musicians from the Commonwealth of Independent States – flutist Mirhalid Mammadzade, bassoon player Umud Musayev, horn player Ismayil Alasgarov, trampoline player Nemat Tanirverdiev, drummer Serik Amanzholov, viola player Cholpon Amanzholova, double bass player Daurzhan Zeynulla, violinists Nadir Eyvazov, Astghik Siradegyan, Marat Nigmatov, Kanysh Nurdi, Nekruz Matholov, cellists Furkat Ostonaev, Kasiet Niyazbekova, Daniel Petrosyan – have proven throughout the concert.
They did not just complement, they enriched with their talents the already outstanding State Symphony Orchestra of Turkmenistan conducted by Rasul Klychev. For one second of the concert it was impossible to say that Turkmen and foreign musicians played together for only a week. It seemed this unity in the art is life-long.
The concert ended with the work “Turkmenistan” performed by Aageldy Gadyadiyev and the State Choir of Turkmenistan.
Finished nominally. But in fact, it continues to sound in the heart of everyone who was fortunate enough to be in the Palace of Mukams today. After all, there are still so many works with which to enrich the program, so many songs that can and should be sung, so many beautiful themes that need to be addressed.
And the friendship concert will never end - it will continue at all venues of the CIS until there are no songs sung, no tunes played.
