The Government of the Russian Federation has approved a draft bilateral agreement with Turkmenistan on cooperation in the field of tourism, says the relevant resolution published today on the website of the Russian government. As stated in the Agreement, the governments of the two countries and tourist authorities will facilitate the realization of joint projects, encourage the attracting of investments into tourism sector and arrange reciprocal familiarization trips for tour operators. Moreover, this legal instrument will enhance the interaction of Turkmenistan and Russia within the framework of the World Tourism Organization. One of the main factors for expanding mutual tourism flows is the specified intention of the parties to promote the dissemination of advertising and marketing information. Today, Turkmenistan has a rich tourism infrastructure and experience in providing first-rate services for the leisure and travel industry. This is clearly evident from the Avaza resort area built on the Turkmen coast of the Caspian Sea, embracing dozens of state-of-art hotels and entertainment complexes. In addition, V Asian Games hosted at the highest level, lured a huge waves of foreign guests to the Turkmen capital. Turkmenistan has always been magnetic destination for tourists as a country that has a rich historical inheritance, being a home for many historical and cultural monuments, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List. The new agreement lays the basis for raising the popularity of Turkmen tourist routes in Russia and the world, unleashing the great potential of our country in this area.
